Mesoplodon traversii – by Jennifer Rae Atkins.

The internets are an inspiring place. Inspired by the alignment of Tetrapod Zoology’s Week of Seriously Frickin’ Weird Cetacean Skulls and the final installment of The Lord Geekington’s expansive beaked whale treatise, I’ve dusted off a draft that has been adrift in the tubular doldrums since December. Seriously.

But, inspired mostly by The Daily Mammal’s Jennifer Rae Atkins:

Yay! A draft of what, pray tell?

I’ve been thinking about right whale skeletons lately at work. My boss is going to try to do a 3d computer model of one.

Is that a giant mosquito in that picture? Did you kill it or let it be?

    These are fair questions.

“Draft” here apparently refers to the post itself, although given the lack content it’s difficult to imagine what was “drafted.” Perhaps the mangled digital photo?

It was a crane fly, I didn’t touch it but odds are, it fell prey to one of our spiders…
